THE RACE
Join fellow turkey lovers, runners, walkers and friends for an appetite-inducing morning of good-natured competition. Starting and finishing at The Mall in Columbia, runners will complete at 5K distance and earn a logo shirt and finisher medal.
RACE LOCATION
The Mall in Columbia
10300 Little Patuxent Pkwy, Columbia, MD 20144.
The start and finish line is on the mall road in front of Maggianos Little Italy
and Seasons 52 restaurants.
AGE REQUIREMENT
Runners must be at least 7 years old to participate in this race.
Pets, baby joggers/strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and any other non-official wheeled vehicles are prohibited.

Registration transfers are not permitted to other Rip It Events. Race organizers reserve the right to close registration due to capacity limits. Race organizers reserve the right to delay or cancel event due to extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Refund & Defer Policy
Have your plans changed? Unable to attend this race? Registered participants may elect to defer their race entry to the 2025 race for $10. The deadline to request a defer is Nov 26. To defer your registration, click HERE. There are NO refunds for this race.
Why is there a fee to defer my entry to the 2025 race? Money has already been spent on items associated with the current year’s race such as shirts, finisher medals, police fees and more. The defer fee covers these expenses for your 2025 race entry. Next year, you will receive a special code via email to re-register for FREE.
Bib Transfers
Giving your bib to a family member of friend who is not registered for this race is NOT permitted. Only registered runners are allowed to participate in this race. Additionally, there are no strollers with children permitted!
REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDES LONG SLEEVE SHIRT AND FINISHER MEDAL.
Long sleeve shirt is tri-blend, light-weight soft cotton. Adult gender specific sizing Xsmall-2Xlarge.

GRASSROOTS CRISIS INTERVENTION
Grassroots provides 24/7 access to individuals and famlies for behavioral health, crisis, and homeless services. Grassroots operates a 33-bed emergency family shelter, a 18-bed men’s shelter, a Cold Weather Shelter program, and operates the counrty’s Code Blue Shelter during cold weather emergencies.
Please consider supporting the Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center. You can help by bringing one of the following items to the Turkey Trot 5K race. These items will be delivered directly to the Day Resource Center in Jessup, MD.

PACKET PICK UP, T-SHIRT & FINISHER MEDAL
Runners are required to pick up their packet before the start of the race. This includes your race bib and timing chip. If you are unable to pick up your race packet, someone may pick up for you.
The deadline to be guaraunteed a shirt is Nov 4. We have ordered extra shirts to anticipate final registration numbers. Runners who register after Nov 1 will be able to get a shirt after they finish their race (while supplies last). Every runner will receive a medal.
Packet pick up is on race day at The Mall In Columbia, Nov 28.

MASS START & WATER STATIONS
This race will use a mass start format (everyone starts at the same time - 8:30 AM). Water station will be located at mile 1.5.
RUN COURSE
5K - two loop of course
TIMING & RESULTS
This race will use bib tag timing. Your timing chip will be affixed to the back side of your bib number. Please do not remove your timing chip. This event will be publishing LIVE results throughout the race. To access results on race day, go to www.ripitevents.com and access the "Results" webpage from your smart phone. Choose this race from the list of race options and enter your name or bib number to view your individual results.
AWARDS
Awards will be given to the top three overall male, female and non-binary finishers. Additional awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in the following group categories: 9-10, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89.
There are no awards for ages 7-8 yrs.
