Race will cap at 250 runners.
Run through Linganore Winery in the winter! The course is a cross county type race on grass and dirt trails. This race is appropriate for all level runners including beginners. A standard running shoe is appropriate for this race. This race will use a wave start format.
Runners must be at least 14 years old to participate in the 10 Miler and at least 7 years old to participate in the 5 miler.
COVID-19 RULES AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
By registering for this event, participants agree to abide by all COVID-19 rules, requirements and other safety guidelines issued by the event, park, and the state. Participants will be required to sign a specific Covid-19 waiver during online registration.
The race entry fee is the same for both the 5 & 10 Miler. Registration includes a long sleeve shirt and finisher medal.

If the race is cancelled due to Covid-19 related issues, all registrations for the physical race will be refunded minus the processing fee.
Registration transfers are not permitted to other Rip It Events.
Race organizers reserve the right to close registration due to capacity limits.

The following are prohibited from the race course: pets, baby joggers/strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and any other non-official wheeled vehicles.

PACKET PICK UP
Registered participants are required to pick up their packet before the start of the race. This includes getting your timing chip, bib, shirt and pint glass. Due to Covid-19, the following procedure will take place on race morning (subject to change). Packet pick up is on race morning only.
1. All participants must pick up their packet in person no more than 30 minutes prior to your assigned start wave. Please DO NOT attempt to pick up your packet early. For example, if you are starting in Wave 9 at 9:24 a.m., your packet pick up time is 8:54 a.m. Runners are welcome to arrive to the park early but must stand clear of the packet pick up area and start/finish line.
2. To reduce the number of people at packet pick up, only registered participants themselves are permitted to pick up their packet. No exceptions. A photo ID will be required to pick up your packet.
To ensure runner safety and to reduce the amount of passing during the first few miles of the race, participants have been placed into waves of 25 people based on their average pace per mile as entered on the registration form. Each wave will consist of both 5 & 10 Miler runners. Participants must start in their assigned waves. The wave assignment list will be published and sent to participants via email one week prior to race day. If your average pace is list incorrectly but only by 30 seconds or so, please remain in your assigned wave. If you feel strongly that you should be placed in a different wave, please email us at . Starting in the same wave with a friend or spouse NOT considered a valid reason to request a wave change.

In accordance with Maryland State Park rules, all participants are required to wear a face mask prior to the start of the race and at the conclusion of the race. Additionally, participants MUST carry a face mask on their person at all times during the race.
Allowing a non-registered runner to use your bib is NOT PERMITTED. There are two reasons for this rule.
1. We are implementing specific safety measures due to Covid-19. All registered participants will sign a wavier agreeing to the race rules during the registration process. Additionally, runners will receive detailed information from us days leading up to the event with updated safety requirements. Non-registered runners will not have signed the waiver and will not have receive communication from us.
2. Our race insurance covers registered runners only. It does not cover someone who is running under someone else's name/bib number.
The race starts and finishes at Linganore Winery. Runners are required to complete either the 5 or 10 mile course.

10 MILER COURSE REQUIREMENT
All runners will reach mile 5 (start 2nd loop) in 1 hr 40 mins. Runners that have not completed this distance by 12:43 AM will not be permitted to continue on the course. A 20:00 per mile pace was used to determine this required course cut off time.
RACE CATEGORY CHANGES
If you decide to switch from the 10 Miler to the 5 miler (or vise versa), please let us know by email prior to race day or in-person (prior to the start of the race) on race day. The deadline to switch race category by email is XXX. Please send email to . 10 Milers who decide not to continue to the second loop during the race will not be eligible for awards.
To reduce the amount of contact between runners and race management, participants are HIGHLY encourage to wear a camelback or fuel belt during the race. There will be 2 aid stations along the loop course. Both will be serving water and gatorade.
Water Station # 1 is located at mile 2.5.
Water Station # 2 is located at the start/finish line (start of 2nd loop for half marathoners).
TIMING & WITHDRAWING DURING THE RACE
Your timing chip (orange square) is affixed to the back of your race number bib. Do not remove this timing chip. You can throw away your timing chip/race number at the conclusion of the race if you'd like. It is disposable.
If you drop out of the race at any point, please notify member of the race staff. It is essential that we know where you are on the course at all times for your safety and our peace of mind.
To reduce the amount of close interaction between race staff and athletes, all results will be posted directly online in real time. Finishers can use their smart phone to access their individual results by clicking HERE or going to the RESULTS webpage at the conclusion of their race.
Awards will be given to the top finisher in the following group categories for both the 5 & 10 Miler: Overall, 7-8, 9-10, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. All awards will be mailed to participants with in 2 weeks of the conclusion of the race. 10 Milers who decide not to continue to the second loop during the race will not be eligible for awards.
Porta-potties will be located near the start of the race. There are no bathrooms along the run course.
While we'd love to have friends and family participate as spectators, due to covid-19 and the permit requirements, spectating is NOT permitted at this years event. Thank you for your understanding.
PARTICIPANT SHIRT & FINISHER MEDAL
Participants will receive a logo shirt and finisher medal at the race. We will purchase extra shirts for those who wish to exchange their shirt for a different size.
