REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.

We want to inspire you to be POSITIVE and HEALTHY during this time of uncertainty. We also want to support local restaurant jobs and feed Maryland residents who need it most. We’ve created a unique spin on virtual racing to provide an outlet  to stay FIT and COMPETITIVE. Instead of one virtual event, this event requires participants to complete 5 duathlons events on 5 days. A portion of your registration fee will be donated to FOOD IF FORWARD

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. Choose a race category and register. 

2. Day 1 - complete the prescribed run-bike-run distance and upload results (optional). 

3. Repeat the same distances for days 2, 3, 4, & 5.

4. Upload photos and interact with other participants on the event Facebook Group. 

You can complete the Virtual Run-Bike-Run inside on a stationary bike and a treadmill, or outside as long as you maintain the recommended minimum of at least six feet of social distancing. This event gives you the flexibility to be a multi-sport athlete on your own time, at your own pace, and in your own space. 

 

The race packet for this virtual event includes a race shirt, a finisher’s medal, a donation to Food It Forward and a chance to win a logo hoodie and visor. There are no awards for this event.

 

DO I NEED TO COMPLETE EACH EVENT IN 5 CONSECUTIVE DAYS?

This event will take place from April 24 - June 21. We encourage participants to space out their events to allow for rest and recovery. Events DO NOT have to be completed in 5 consecutively days however you are welcome to do so it you'd like. Participants will be able to upload their results beginning April 25. 

COVID-19 Information:

The multi-sport community has an obligation to lead by example during the current Stay-At-Home order. Running and cycling outdoors is not banned; it is specifically listed as a permissible activity. Please don’t view this as a great time to meet up with your training buddies. The preferred way to run or cycle is solo, and from home. This virtual event strongly discourages groups and advises participants to maintain the mandated six feet separation rule. Rip It Events is not responsible for any legal ramifications for violation of state laws.

AGE REQUIREMENT

Super Sprint - must be at least 10 years old.

Sprint - must be at least 14 years old.

Intermediate - must be at least 18 years old.

Challenge - must be at least 18 years old.

FEE - $40.00

Registration is closedRegistration fee includes the following items. Shirt and finisher medal will be mailed to participants. Mailings will being on June 1.

What Is FOOD It FORWARD?
Help protect restaurant jobs and feed Maryland residents who need it most! Food It Forward is a collaboration between a small group of restaurants to drive business, save restaurant jobs and get great food to those who need it most during the COVID-19 crisis.

How Does It Work?
Individuals and families purchase meals. Clyde's Restaurant of Columbia makes the meals and is able to bring back staff members for jobs. Purchased meals are then taken to either the The Howard County Food Bank or Grassroots Crisis Center to be distributed to hospitals, first responders, and people experiencing hunger in our own neighborhoods.

PARTICIPANT SHIRT & MEDAL

Participants will receive the shirt size they selected at online registration via mail. For reference, shirts are short sleeve and made by Zorrel Primease (standard fit). They will be soft cotton type (this is the same shirt type Rip It Events has used for all of 2019). To view the shirt size chart, click HERE. The shirt fits are on the slim side. It is recommended to order one size up. Shirts and medals will be mailed to participants. We anticipate a June 18 delivery. 

PRINT YOUR RACE BIB (optional)
We encourage participants to to print a logo race bib and during wear each duathlon event. Click the button below to view the race bib and print. Be sure to print in LANDSCAPE. This bib is 7.5 in W X 6 in H.  
EVENT FACEBOOK GROUP
Join our virtual run facebook group and encourage fellow participants. Be sure to post photos of your training and each time you complete an event. ​
SUBMIT YOUR RESULTS (optional)
Submitting your results is optional.  Participants can submit their indvidual results online between Apr 24 - Jun 21. To submit individual results, click the button below. Enter your registration ID, completion time and a photo of your watch or other device. Your registration ID can be found on your confirmation email. To receive a copy of your registration confirmation, please email racedirector@ripitevents.com.
